Channel mode
If you are in frequency editing mode, press the V/M key to return to channel
mode. The screen will show the channel number, frequency and active
functions. Press the UP and DOWN keys on the microphone to increase or
decrease the channel number.
Reception and Transmission
When the radio receives a signal on the current channel, the screen will light up
green and the received signal strength indicator will be displayed.
Notes:
1. If you have set the squelch level too high, you will only hear very strong
signals.
2. If during reception, the signal indicator and the green light of the screen
flash but you do not hear anything, it means that the received signal has a
different CTCSS/DCS code.
To transmit, press the PTT key on the microphone. The screen will light up red
and the emitted signal indicator will be displayed. Speak at a distance of 2.5-5
cm from the microphone with a normal tone of voice. Release the PTT key to
receive.
Monitor function (squelch disabled)
Use the Monitor function to disable the squelch and hear if there is activity
on the channel. To activate the Monitor function, long press the SQL key. The
screen will turn green. Adjust the volume from the volume control button.
Long press the SQL key again to exit Channel Monitoring mode.
Squelch level adjustment
The automatic squelch has 9 levels, plus the option to be disabled:
OFF - squelch disabled
1 - maximum sensitivity (minimum squelch)
5 - medium sensitivity (medium squelch)
