The roof bars should be assembled by 2 persons.
F F i i g g u u r r e e 1 1
The roof bars are labelled on the left-hand underside of the profile tube, each with a
sticker for the front and back. When assembling the roof bars, please ensure that
the sticker is on the left-hand side of the vehicle and the arrow is pointing in the
direction of travel.
W W a a r r n n i i n n g g ! !
The labels must be observed when placing the roof bars on the vehicle roof.

Open the profile casings (2 2 8 8 ) and lift the caps (2 2 7 7 ) upwards. Insert the torque
wrench (2 2 9 9 ) on the clamping screws (2 2 6 6 ) in the direction of the arrow, and loosen
them by about 18 rotations.

Dimensions A A and B B for insertion of the assembly aids (3 3 0 0 ) are located on the top
and bottom edges of these pages 14/15. Use positioning aid A A when assembling
the front roof bars!
Place the assembly sheet (3 3 1 1 ) on the edge of the roof at the front left or right. In the
middle of shaded area A A , carefully insert the assembly aid (3 3 0 0 ) between the side
wall frame and seal, gently pulling the seal outwards and inserting the assembly
aid (3 3 0 0 ) inside the gap in the rubber seal.
W W a a r r n n i i n n g g ! !
When inserting the assembly aid (3 3 0 0 ), be careful not to damage the rubber seal
behind it.
N N o o t t e e : :
Carefully clean the vehicle roof under the roof bars and the base of the roof bars
before mounting, removing dust and grease.
F F i i g g u u r r e e 4 4
Gently pull the clamping brackets (2 2 0 0 , , 2 2 1 1 ) outwards and carefully place the front
roof bars on the edge of the roof using the assembly aid (3 3 0 0 ).
Carefully pull the assembly aid ( ( 3 3 0 0 ) ) outwards and place the clamping brackets ( ( 2 2 0 0 , ,
2 2 1 1 ) ) over the positioning bolt ( ( P P ) ) and press until they lie against the body.
W W a a r r n n i i n n g g ! !
When positioning the clamping brackets ( ( 2 2 0 0 , , 2 2 1 1 ) ) , do not insert them into the
keyhole (see figure 4).

Align the roof bars in such a way that the left support foot in the direction of travel
is up against the roof edge (see figure 5a).
To prevent slippage of the roof bars, lightly tighten the left clamping bracket. Lightly
tighten the clamping screw ( ( 2 2 6 6 ) ) with the torque wrench ( ( 2 2 9 9 ) ) . Remove the assembly
aid (3 3 0 0 ).
N N o o t t e e : :
The distance between the right support foot and the edge of the roof should
measure 2-3 mm, as shown in figure 5c.
If this is not the case (figure 5b and 5d), it is recommended that you have the roof
bar width - as described on page 30 - adjusted by a specialist workshop.
F F i i g g u u r r e e 6 6
Using the torque wrench ( ( 2 2 9 9 ) ) , alternately tighten the clamping screws ( ( 2 2 6 6 ) ) on the
left and right side to 6 6 N N m m in two steps. The two arrows on the torque wrench ( ( 2 2 9 9 ) )
must be located directly opposite each other (6 Nm).
C C a a u u t t i i o o n n ! !
The specified torque of 6 6 N N m m must not be exceeded. Exceeding this torque
could result in damage to the vehicle.

N N o o t t e e : :
To assemble the rear roof bars, follow the same procedure as for the front roof
bars.
Dimensions A A and B B for insertion of the assembly aid (3 3 0 0 ) are located on the top
and bottom edges of these pages 14/15.
Use positioning aid B B when assembling the rear roof bars!
Place the assembly sheet (3 3 1 1 ) on the edge of the roof at the rear left or right.
Make sure that the support feet grip the roof edge and remain in position after
tightening the clamping screws.
W W a a r r n n i i n n g g ! !
The support foot must not slip/jump over the edge of the roof.
Close the cap (2 2 7 7 ) and profile casing (2 2 8 8 ).

To assemble attachments, open the profile casing ( ( 2 2 8 8 ) ) and insert the attachments
in the T-groove. Close the profile casing again.
F F i i g g u u r r e e 9 9
If not using attachments, close the T-groove with the trim section ( ( 3 3 ) ) by adjusting
the trim sections ( ( 3 3 ) ) to the length of the profile tubes ( ( 1 1 , , 2 2 ) ) .
W W a a r r n n i i n n g g ! !
All screw fittings and connectors of the roof bars and mountings must be checked
before starting each journey, retightened if necessary and rechecked at
appropriate intervals. The screw fittings must be checked at shorter intervals for
poor road surfaces. If not checked regularly, attachments may become loose or
fall off — risk of accident!

The roof bars should be disassembled by 2 persons.
Open the profile casings (2 2 8 8 ) and lift the caps (2 2 7 7 ) upwards. Insert the torque
wrench (2 2 9 9 ) on the clamping screws (2 2 6 6 ) in the direction of the arrow and loosen
them in about 3 steps by around 5 rotations each, alternating between the left and
right.
Then carefully pull the clamping brackets (2 2 0 0 , 2 2 1 1 , 2 2 2 2 , 2 2 3 3 ) out from under the seal.
N N o o t t e e : :
Applying slight pressure against the direction of travel makes it easier to remove
the clamping brackets (2 2 0 0 , 2 2 1 1 , 2 2 2 2 , 2 2 3 3 ).
Carefully remove the roof bars from the vehicle roof.
Insert the torque wrench (2 2 9 9 ) on the clamping screws (2 2 6 6 ) in the direction of the
arrow, and tighten them by about 18 rotations.
Close the caps (2 2 7 7 ) and profile casing (2 2 8 8 ).
