EVALUATION CRITERIA AND SOLUTIONS TO ADOPT
*Use drive groups conforming to EN 12453 and safety devices in compliance with
EN 12978.
*Check that the door does not make dangerous movements (in case of breakage
system suspension, the door should not fall more than 300 mm).
*Check that after a breakdown or a power failure, the drive group resumes the operation
safely, without creating dangerous situations.
*Install an omnipolar switch for electrical insulation of the door, according to
current regulations. This switch must be installed and protected from involuntary or

Provide users a means and instructions to release the automation, check that the device
has easy operation and do not generate additional risks.
*If appropriate, install an emergency stop command.
*IMPORTANT: Check that the emergency stop does not create new risks, verifing
the functioning of safety devices installed.
*Apply all necessary signs or warnings to indicate residual risks and potential
non-compliant uses.
*A maintenance plan must be established and performed. Check every 6 months as
minimum that the safety devices work correctly.
*Inform users about the presence of residual risks and the potential inadequate use.
