T cooling unit
Temperature of the cooling unit (in the
too low
cabinet) is too low. Particularly applies as
indicator that the ambient temperature is
too low for using the heater. (Tamb. ≤ 0°)
T junction
Junction temperature of the IGBTs too high
too high
(>130°)
Check whether the grid filters are clean to
ensure they allow sufficient cold air through.
Follow the instructions prescribed in chapter
7. Maintenance and cleaning.
Udc too low
Input voltage of the chopper is too low.
Arrange for an electrical engineer to check
whether the generator is still connected to
the 3 phases of the grid. A grid guard fuse
may be out of service.
Ieff too high
The effective value (RMS) of the output
current is too high. Check whether a
workpiece is indeed present in the coil.
If a flexible coil / inductor is used, it is
possible that the coil value is too low. Try
and add a coil.
No temp. rise
The workpiece temperature failed to rise by
a certain value within the preset time (e.g.
1°C within 10 seconds'
Check whether the temperature sensor has
been placed on the workpiece.
Check whether the temperature sensor is
connected to the generator.
Communication
Communication between chopper and
timeout
chopper-control does not take place within
the set time.
Completely switch off the generator using
the main switch, wait for a few seconds
and switch on again. This will reset the
generator. If this does not clear the fault,
contact your supplier.
U power
Output voltage of the chopper power supply
too low
is below 10V. Contact your supplier.
Current too high
Peak current through the chopper. Contact
your supplier.
Min. freq.
No resonance found between 9 and 20kHz.
reached
Combination of inductor, workpiece and
generator not optimal.
Capacitive load
The load is capacitive instead of inductive.
Combination of inductor, workpiece and
generator not optimal.
No coil detected
No coil has been connected to the heater.
Connect inductor and clear error message
using the stop button.
Power too high
Power provided to the inductor is too high.
Combination of inductor, workpiece and
generator not optimal.
Transformer
Transformer thermal switched off.
thermal out
Let device cool off. Once the unit has cooled
off sufficiently, the thermal protection
will reset itself and you can then reset the
malfunction using the red stop button. You
can then use the device again.

Coil 1
Inductor thermally switched off.
thermal off:
Let the inductor cool off. Once it has cooled
off sufficiently, the thermal protection
will reset itself and you can then reset the
malfunction using the red stop button. You
can then use the inductor again.
Coil 2
Inductor thermally switched off.
thermal off:
Let the inductor cool off. Once it has cooled
off sufficiently, the thermal protection
will reset itself and you can then reset the
malfunction using the red stop button. You
can then use the inductor again.
6.9 Using the Delta T option
The heater is equipped with this feature and has an extra
thermocouple connection. The display will show 2 temperatures,
A and B.
Display with 2 temperatures A and B
This option guards the temperature difference, delta T, between
two measuring point on the work piece. For example between
the inner ring and the outer ring of a bearing. When the delta
T exceeds its set point the heating process will be stopped or
paused depending how certain values are set by the user.
The settings for the delta T option can be made in the user
settings. Go to the settings menu and select user settings. Scroll
down till the screen below.
Delta T switch on:
Is the temperature difference between temperature A and B at
which the heater is allowed to switch on again after the heating
cycle was paused due to exceeding the maximum allowed delta T
(temperature difference between temperature A and B). The Auto
restart option must be turned "on"
Delta T switch off:
Is the temperature difference between temperature A and B at
which the heater will pause or stop the heating cycle.
When the Auto restart option is turned "on" the heating cycle will
be paused when the maximum temperature difference between
