OPERATING INSTRUCTION
1. Select the target: the part requiring further ob-
servation shall be adjusted to the center with low
power lens 4X objective along with the adjust-
ment of the image to the clearest degree for
observation at high power lens.
2. The converter shall be turned to replace with
the high-powered lens which shall be rotated
slowly to observe from the side (to prevent
collision with the object slide by high-powered
lens), otherwise, it means that the focal length
of the low power lens has not been adjusted
well. So re-operation shall be conducted.

Baseplate
• Object stage: 90X90mm metal platform with
slice preforminge
• Focusing mechanism: hand wheel moving
• Condenser: NA0.65 Condenser
• 6-hole drive plate light bar:
red, orange, dark green, light green, blue filter.
• Light source: LED upper and lower light
sources to be adjustable.
• Power: 3 AA battery pack
(batteries not included)
3. Focal length adjustment: after the converting
with high power lens, it should be observed on
the eyepiece with the left eye, to see an unclear
image, then turn the focusing hand wheel
slowly and carefully to achieve a clear image.
If the vision brightness is inappropriate, the con-
denser can be adjusted, and if it is needed to
replace the specimen on the slide, the focusing
hand wheels wrong direction) to lower the lens
stage and remove the specimen on the slide.

APPLICATION METHOD FOR LOW POWER BIOLOGICAL MICROSCOPE:
Microscope taking and placing: the microscope should be stored in a cabinet or case usually to be
taken out only in use. The right hand should hold its arm tightly and the left hand should support its
base to put the microscope on the experimental stage in front of your left shoulder. It is appropriate
that the back-end of the base shall be 1 to 2 cm away from the table edge for the convenience of
sitting operation.
Microscope focusing: the rotator shall be moved with the thumb and middle (it should not be mo-
ved by holding the objective), so that the low power lens can be aligned with the light hole of the
low power lens (when the knocking sound is heard in rotation, it means that the objective optical
axis has been aligned to the center of the lens cone).Turn on the light source, observe with the left
eye in the eyepiece(with the right eye open) , while adjusting the dimming knob until the light is
even and bright within the view.
The specimen of the slide shall be placed on the microscope: a slice specimen shall be put on the
stage with the part having cover glass on the upside. It is prohibited to do it in adverse and the part
for observation shall be regulated to the right middle side of the light hole.
Focal length adjustment: the focusing hand wheel shall be rotated by the left hand in counter-clo-
ckwise direction, to lift the platform slowly to about 5mm away from the specimen. It should be
noted that observation on the eyepiece shall not be conducted in the platform lifting process. The
platform shall be lifted and watched from the right side to avoid over lifting for the damage of the
lens or the specimen. Then, both eyes shall be open at the same time with the left eye observing on
the eyepiece. The focusing hand wheel shall be rotated slowly by the left-hand clockwise to slow
down the platform until the image is clear in vision. In case the image is not in the center of the
vision, it can be adjusted (it should be noted that the direction of moving slide it adverse to the mo-
ving direction of the image in vision). If the brightness in the vision is inappropriate, the condenser
can be lifted and the light rotary knob can be adjusted. If the platform declination has been more
than the working distance (>5.40mm) in adjusting the focal length without seeing the image, it
means that the operation fails, which shall be conducted for a second time. Be sure not to lift up the
microscope stage blindly in a hurry.
REQUIREMENTS FOR BRIGHTNESS BY THE SPECIMEN SLICE
• When using specimen with good translucency, only the light sources shall be turned on such as
(blood slice, plant epidermis slice, etc.).
• When using specimen with poor translucency, both the upper and lower light source shall be
turned on such as (root, stem, leaf of plants, chloroplast, fungi, etc.).
HOW TO MAKE A SPECIMEN
• First the object we prepared shall be very thin so that the light can pass through the specimen and
the specimen can be observed by the microscope.
• Sliced onion, leaf epidermis, or saline soaked skin are all specimens easy to be made and are very
suitable for beginners.
