NOTE: This tool is shipped completely assembled. No assembly time
or tools are required.
TO INSTALL THE BIT
1.
Loosen the clamping knob (A) Fig. 1. Lower the power unit to expose the collet
nut (B).
2.
Lay the unit on its side with the opening to the collet nut (B) facing you (Fig. 1).
3.
Place a wrench on the flats of the shaft (C) directly above the collet nut. Place the
other wrench on the collet nut (B) . Turn the collet nut counter-clockwise to loosen
the collet. If a bit is installed, remove it.
4.
Securely tighten the collet (D) by turning the collet nut (B) clockwise.
5.
Clean the bit. Insert the shank of the bit into the collet (D) until the end of the
shank bottoms, then pull it out approximately 1/16".
6.
Use the wrenches in the same configuration as in STEP 4. Securely tighten the
collet (D) by turning the collet nut (B) clockwise.
NOTE: To prevent damage to the collet, never tighten the collet nut (B) Fig. 1
without a bit installed.

TO REMOVE THE BIT
1.
Follow steps one through five under "TO INSTALL THE BIT".
2.
Place one wrench on the flats of the shaft directly above the collet nut. Let the
far end of the wrench rest on the bench.
3.
Place the other wrench on the collet nut and turn it counter-clockwise.
Loosen the collet enough to allow the removal of the bit.
ASSEMBLY
Disconnect the tool from the power source.
