• When the maintenance fl ap is closed, the indi-
cator on the operator control panel goes off and
the status bar lights up in green.
• Then proceed as described in chapter Make
ready for operation.
Check the safety switch at the tray
• Pull out the tray on the underside.
If the equipment is operating correctly,
the status bar lights up in red, the red LED
on the operator control panel fl ashes and
the message "Tray open" appears in the
operator control panel.
• When the tray is closed, the indicator on the
operator control panel goes off and the status
bar lights up in red.
• Then proceed as described in chapter Make
ready for operation.

Preparing for operation
• Put the main switch into the "I" position.
• The last kind of material that was selected ap-
pears in the display fi eld: Hard drive, CD/DVD
or magnetic tape.
If the last kind of material to be selected is to be
shredded again, press the button:
• The shredding data media is schematically ani-
mated in the information pane. If the hand icon
appears in the display fi eld and the status bar
turns red, the device is not ready for operation.
Do not put in any material.
• The hand icon in the information pane
disappears and the status display turns green
if the device is ready for operation. Put in
material.

Shredding material
• Put the material to be shredded into the infeed
slot.
