3.2. Working with the machine
Before welding
1) Make sure that the inner and outer protective films are removed from the
lenses.
2) Check if the batteries have enough power. The filter cartridge can
withstand 5,000 hours of operation when powered by lithium batteries and
solar batteries. When the battery level is low, the low battery indicator LED
will light up (only for X-METAL, X-PROWELD models). The lens of the filter
may not be working properly. Replace the battery.
3) Check that the arc sensors are clean and not clogged with dust or debris.
4) Before each use, check that the headband is seated tightly on the head.
5) Inspect all parts for signs of wear or damage before use. Any scratched,
cracked, or rusty parts should be replaced or repaired before re-use to
avoid serious injury.
6) Select the desired hue number with the hue adjustment knob. Finally,
make sure that the shade number has the correct setting for your
operation.
The degree of shade
The degree of shade should be adapted to the welding process. The "Shade table"
at the end of this manual will help you find the correct setting. Use the knob located
on the outer-side part of the helmet (in the case of the X-PROWELD model, the knob
is located inside the helmet) and select the preferred degree of protection from
light.
Sensitivity to the light of an electric arc
The sensitivities should be adjusted according to the welding process and ambient
lighting.
1) Low setting - suitable for high current welding and welding in areas with
high levels of natural sunlight.
2) Medium setting - suitable for most indoor and outdoor welding jobs.
3) High setting - suitable for low amperage welding and welding in low light
areas, especially for low amperage argon arc welding.
Self-check (X-METAL, X-PROWELD models only)
