SECTION 3: INSTALLATION
Flow Switch
The recommended position for flow switch installation
is on the outlet of the UV system. Ensure the flow
switch is not subject to flow agitation resulting in false
flow conditions. Pay attention to the flow switch flow
arrow and that it is pointing in the direction water flow.
Care must be exercised during threading operation to
ensure threads are not crossed and the bending beam
target assembly does not touch the inside surface of
the tee. When threading into PVC fittings 2–3 layers
Teflon sealing tape is recommended. Tighten 2–3 turns
beyond finger tight.
Electrical Connection
The BioShield
PRO UV System is intended to be
®
permanently plugged into a 120/240 VAC power source
such as a power strip rated for 10 amps.
Interconnect Box and Flow Switch
The UV lamps will not operate if there is a low flow
condition.
The UV lamps will turn on 30 seconds after the flow
condition is met.
Locate the flow switch cable with the black M12 female
connector.
Connect the flow switch to the connector labeled "Flow
Switch Input" underneath the Interconnect Box.
Line up the notch and twist the flow switch connector
until snug, ensuring a secure connection.

Interconnect Box and Ballast
Locate the ballast cable with the black M12 male
connector.
Connect the ballast cable to the connector labeled
"Ballast 1 Output"
Line up the notch and twist the ballast connector until
snug, ensuring a secure connection.
Repeat until all of the ballasts are connected.
