General safety notes
Before using the product, carefully read the Instructions for Use for the
transmitter being used. This document does not replace the
instructions for use.
1.2
Definition of alert icons
The following alert messages are used in this document to provide and
highlight areas of the associated text that require a greater awareness
by the user. A definition of the meaning of each alert message is as
follows:

Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in physical injury, or damage to the product or
environment. It may also be used to alert against unsafe
practices.

Installing Docking Station

The illustrations referred to in these assembly instructions
can be found on the fold-out page.
When installing the transmitter in zone 2 explosion-hazard areas,
choose a location with low mechanical hazard.
Install in a vertical position (transmitter with sensor down) in a low-
vibration location with as stable a temperature as possible – in the
vicinity of a potential leak.
Keep a clearance of at least 15 cm above the transmitter for
installation of the measurement module.
A clearance of at least 10 cm – preferably 30 cm – must be kept below
the docking station to permit access for maintenance.
Unpacking the docking station:
1. Remove rain cover (dust and rain protector) (Fig. A, arrow).
2. When using the Polytron 3000:
Remove the 2-pin connection terminal (Fig. A, item 2), keep it and
replace it on completion of the installation.
3. When using the Polytron 7000:
Remove the 4-pin connection terminal (Fig. A, item 1), keep it and
replace it on completion of the installation.
