4. INSTALLATION
Note:
If you try the system before installing it, make sure the street unit and monitor are not in the same room,
otherwise the videophone will emit piercing feedback noise (Larsen effect)
a. Installing the roadside panel (fig. 3.1)
1. Remove the screw under the roadside panel (1)
2. Tip the roadside panel forward (2)
3. The panel lens must be placed at a height of about 1.60 m.
4. Securely fix the rain shield using the screws (3) and install a silicone seal* (4) between the shield and the wall
to avoid water from infiltrating. *Do not use acetic acid based silicone (vinegar smell).
5. Connect the wires according to the wiring diagram.
6. Engage the roadside panel (5) onto its rain shield (6).
7. Refit the fixing screw (7).
Important: Do not point the video camera directly at the sun or at reflecting surfaces.
Tip:
we recommend passing the cables through a protective sleeve to protect them from impacts and the weather.
b. Installing the monitor (fig. 3.2)
1. Fasten the wall mounting (2) so that the monitor screen is at a height of about 1.60m.
2. Connect the wires from the roadside panel.
3. Connect the adapter plug (3) into the back of the monitor (without connecting it to the mains).
4. Position the monitor (1) and the wall mounting (2).
5. Connect the power supply unit plug to the 230 V wall socket .
5. WIRING
To avoid disturbances and malfunction risks, do not pass the wire from the videophone through the same sheaths
as electric wires.
a. Connecting the videophone (fig. 5)
Use the following wires:
1. Connect the wires following the wiring diagram (fig. 5).
2. 2 Wires are needed to connect all the functions of the roadside panel: ring tone, video image, intercom
+ 4 extra wires to connect a strike/electric lock and a gate opening mechanism
Caution: never double wires to increase their size
Respect the polarity between the monitor and the roadside panel
• Terminal "1" from the monitor to terminal "1" on the roadside panel
• Terminal "2" from the monitor to terminal "2" on the roadside panel
Important :
• For the wiring diagram, please consult the label on the back of the monitor and the back of the roadside panel.
b. Connecting to a strike or electronic lock
Connect to terminals 3 and 4 on the back on the roadside panel.
Important : The strike or electronic lock you are about to install must have a mechanical memory like all refer-
ences Extel. For the wiring, see the label at the back of the roadside panel.
c. Connecting to a motorised entrance gate
Connect directly to terminals 5 and 6 on the back on the roadside panel. The roadside panel delivers a "dry"
contact with no current, to be connected to the "push button control" of your automatic opener.
