until correct day appears.
note: The day is printed in two successive positions on the day
indicator: in English and in Spanish on U.S. models; or in English
and in French, on certain other models. It is possible to make use of
either position. The display will automatically remain in the language
chosen. In some models, the calendar cannot be changed manu-
ally between 9:00pm and 6:00am, however, the mechanism will not
be damaged if the crown is turned accidentally during this period of
time.
step 6: Push the crown to the "IN" position. Your watch is now
operating normally.
How to use tHe elapsed time indiCator
If your watch is equipped with a rotatable outer
dial with one-minute gradua-tions, this can be
used in various ways to check elapsed time. For
example, if a diver has a 30-minute air supply, he
can set the outer ring so that the triangle is in line
with the minute hand when he submerges. The
minute hand will then indicate on the outer ring the
length of time that the diver has been under water.
sCrew-down Crown
If your watch includes a screw-down crown, you have additional as-
surance that it will remain watertight. To make the crown operational,
it must be turned toward you until the threads are disengaged. Then,
instructions for setting must be followed. To reseal the crown, press
in until threads engage. Turn away from you until tight.
important: Unless the crown is properly resealed, it will not be
watertight.
deep water limited warranty
Supplementary and subject to all the provisions and duration of the
basic Bulova watch limited warranty, deep sea watches are further
warranted not to leak when submerged in water to the depth shown
on the dial, provided crystal and crown remain intact and the case
has been unopened.
In order to assure the preservation of your watch's water resist-
ance, particularly in those instances where the element of safety is
involved, have it checked occasionally by a competent watch techni-
cian and serviced or repaired, if necessary. In addition, the wearer
should avoid manipulation of the crown when submerged.
water resistanCe
Watch models marked only "Water Resistant" on the case back,
without additional depth mark-ings on the dial, are not to be used for
swimming. For swimming, models that have the addi-tional marking
of "50m," "100m" or "200m" on the dial are recommended.

Bulova timepieces have been engineered to provide years of use with
minimal need for service. In the unlikely event that service is needed,
send a statement outlining the specific nature of the problem, along
with the timepiece in a durable, protective wrapping, postage prepaid

Difieren los relojes mecánicos de los de cuarzo en varios aspectos:

El reloj mecánico automático es de auto cuerda una vez que se
ponga en marcha. Para iniciar la marcha del reloj, es necesario darle
cuerda por lo menos seis o siete veces antes de llevarlo puesto.
Después de esto, la actividad cotidiana debe darle suficiente cuerda
al reloj para que siga marchando durante la noche cuando no lo lleva
puesto. En el caso que su actividad cotidiana normal no sea sufi-
ciente, es posible que sea necesario que le de cuerda adicional al
reloj manualmente.

Si su reloj no tiene segundero, sencillamente
jale la corona y proceda al Paso 2.
paso 1: Cuando el segundero llegue a la mar-
ca de los 60 segundos, jale la corona hacia la
posición "OUT". Todas las manecillas pararán.
paso 2: Gire las manecillas hacia adelante (en
sentido horario) para fijar la hora. Para evitar

medianoche. En el caso que el reloj no disponga de un segundero,
simplemente jale la corona y proceda al paso 2.
paso 3: Para la hora de AM, siga girando las manecillas hacia
adelante hasta que el minutero quede aproximadamente 5 minutos
adlante de la marca del minuto deseada. Para la hora PM, siga el
mismo procedimiento, sino que primero deba avanzar las manecil-
las para que pasen las 12 Nota La fecha avanzará automáticamente
al llegar a la medianoche, siempre que la hora AM y PM hayan sido
establecidas (pasos 2 y 3). Se ha programado el calendario del reloj
para un ciclo de 31 días. Por lo tanto, en el primer día de un mes
siguiente a un mes con menos de 31 días, se debe avanzar la fecha
manualmente (véase el Paso 5).
