WARNING:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts could create a hazard or cause
product damage.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
CLEANING THE GLUE GUN CONTACTS
See Figure 6, page 9
WARNING:
Always make sure the glue gun has cooled completely
before attempting to clean the contacts. Following this
rule will reduce the risk of burns, fire, or serious personal
injury.
The glue gun will stop heating if the metal contacts in the
base or glue gun become contaminated with strings or drops
of glue. Always check before each use to see that the metal

contacts are clean to give the best heating performance. Any
residue should be cleaned from the metal contacts using
the following steps.
 Remove the glue gun from the base and set aside.
 Remove the battery from the base.
 Carefully scrape the cooled glue from the metal contacts
using a cotton swab or any non-metallic utensil. Be sure
to check the contacts on both the glue gun and the base
for any glue residue. Never use metallic utensils to clean
the contacts.
STORAGE
Allow the glue gun to cool completely before storing. Turn the
switch to the off (O) position and remove the battery pack.
WARNING:
Always remove the battery pack before storage to en-
sure the product is off. Allow a minimum of 30 minutes
of cool-down time before storage. Storing a glue gun
with a hot nozzle can cause serious burns and/or ignite
combustible objects.
To help prevent drips and clogs the next time the glue gun
is used, remove dried glue from the nozzle area.
