• Wait until all mobile parts have come to a complete halt; the engine must be cool.
• Remove the spark plug terminal so it is not possible for the engine to start accidentally.
• All repairs must be exclusively executed by a specialized technical service.
• Do not spray the equipment with a water hose as electrical parts may get damaged.
• Clean the equipment with a wet rag after servicing. Dirt in the equipment damages the material and impairs
its functioning.
Assembling the nylon string
Always use a until 3.0 mm - diameter nylon string. Using a nylon string of a different diameter might cause the
engine to overheat or burn, as well as voiding the warranty.
There are two possibilities to replace the cutting string:
• By winding a new string to the reel.
• By assembling a new reel with some previously wound string.
Winding a new string to the reel
• Press both latches (1), [Fig. 12, page 13] in the reel (2) and remove the string reel and cap (3).
• Clean the reel box (1), [Fig. 13, page 13], the coil (2), and the reel (3) with the respective cap (4). To clean, use
a clean cloth.
• Check the wear of the sprocket (5), [Fig. 13, page 13] the reel box (1), and the reel (3) and respective cap (4). If
necessary, replace damaged parts.
• Take approximately 3 meters of new
length. If the string is too long it is unlikely that it will be correctly released.
• Insert the folded end of the cutting string in the reel attachment [Fig. 14, page 13].
• Wind the string around the lower and top halves of the reel in tight symmetrical layers. Observe the winding
direction indicated in the reel.
• Insert the string ends through the two opposing retention grooves, pressing them down [Fig. 15, page 14].
• Attach the reel to the respective cap and insert the string ends through the opposing grooves in the reel cap
[Fig. 16, page 14].
• Press the previously assembled unit (3), [Fig. 17, page 14] composed of the inner reel and cap against the reel
box (2) until the retention latches (1) click.

• Remove the reel (3), [Fig. 13, page 13] from its respective cap (4).
• Clean the reel box (1), [Fig. 13, page 13], the coil (2), and the reel cap (4). To clean, use a clean cloth.

box (2) until the retention latches (1) click.
Cleaning the air filter
Before each use, clean and grease the air filter. This is an important component of maintenance. Failing to comply
with servicing the air filter will void the warranty.
• Switch the choke lever (1) [Fig. 18, page 14] to position 3.
this position. Remove the air filter cover by pressing the retention latch (3) and removing the cover (2).
• Remove the air filter (4), [Fig. 19, page 14]. Clean the filter with detergent and water. Let it air dry completely.
• Use clean oil to lightly grease the filter. Wipe any excess away. Assemble the filter.
• Reassemble the air filter cover, paying attention to the attachment [Fig. 20, page 14]. Using the equipment
without the air filter will void the warranty.
