Maintenance
Fuel drain
• Every 8 hours of work, drain the fuel tank to remove
condensed water and particles that may be accumula-
ted.
• Place a suitable container under the tank and use a
funnel to prevent fuel from splashing out.
• With the fuel cock closed, remove the drain plug from
the fuel tank.
• Allow water (denser than fuel) and sediment to be
expelled and replace cap when clean fuel comes out.
• Firmly tighten the cap.
• Clean up all spilled fuel.
Air filter
• Check the air filter to make sure it is in good condition.
Remember that a dirty filter can cause starting difficulties,
loss of performance and shorten the life of the engine.
• Remove the wing nut, and then remove the filter cover
and remove the filter assembly.
• Separate the sponge filter from the paper filter.
• Wash the sponge filter with a solution of detergent and
hot water. Let the filter dry completely.
• Apply a few drops of oil to the sponge to trap the
smallest particles suspended in the air.
• Clean the paper filter with a soft bristle brush to
remove impurities.
• Place the sponge filter around the paper filter, install
the assembly in its container and return the cover to its
place.
CAUTION
If the paper filter is completely clogged,
please replace with a new one.
CAUTION
Never use gasoline to clean the air
filter. It could cause an explosion or fire. Never turn on
the equipment without the air filter. The engine will wear
out faster.
Fuel filter
• The fuel filter prevents particles present in the fuel tank
from entering the engine.
• The filter should be inspected regularly, with the fuel
tank empty.
• Loosen the bolts on either side of the fuel cock and
pull down to expose the filter.
• Check that the filter is in good condition and put it back
in place.
• The tank fuel filter should be washed after 300 working
hours or once a year.
