1. SAFETY-RELEVANT INFORMATION

Important information

Please take the time to fully read the instructions below to prevent any defect that could arise
from incorrect use or application. Brütsch/Rüegger Tools AG or its representative is not responsi-
ble for any damage that arises from impermissible use due to non-compliance with these opera-
ting instructions.

General precautionary measures

Protection against electrostatic interference:
Electronic instrument components could sustain damage due to static electricity. In order to pre-
vent any damage of this kind, avoid making contact with the pins of pin and sleeve connectors or
connections.
The instrument must not be dismantled in any case to prevent any adverse effect on the instru-
ment functions and to avoid accidents.
Only trained and authorised personnel are permitted to open the electronic unit should this be
required.
Do not expose the instrument, its components or accessories to rain or mist. Likewise, avoid
having any foreign bodies enter the plug-in connection points or openings of the instrument.
Do not cover or enclose the display unit while it is in operation. The area around the unit has to
be sufficiently ventilated to avoid any overheating.
Should the instrument or one of its components fail to function correctly (nothing indicated on
display, generation of heat, abnormal odour, etc.) immediately switch off the instrument and
contact Brütsch/Rüegger Tools AG or its representative.
This is a high-precision measuring instrument. It should be treated with due care and diligence
for the entire duration of its service life. Compliance with the following points is required:
- Ensure that the instrument is on a stable, level and clean measurement plate when used.
- Avoid any physical impact or vibration. These could adversely affect the properties of the
instrument.
- Use the instrument in an environment that is free of vibration.
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and excessive humidity.
- Do not place the instrument in the vicinity of heaters or air-conditioning units.
- Compliance with the specified ambient conditions is required.
