6.7 Display mode
The value can be displayed in one of two ways in vertical measurement
mode:
"Standard" display mode
The current position of the measuring insert is always displayed in the
upper row. The value is fixed to the measured value for probe con-
tact. During probe contact, the distance from the previously measured
height (incremental dimension) is indicated in the lower row. When
the measurement force is no longer applied, this value will be replaced
with the value of the last measurement.
"Direct" display
The current position of the measuring insert is always displayed in the
upper row. The value is not fixed for probe contact. The fixed value of
the last measurement is indicated in the lower row.
In order to activate "Direct" display, press and hold the button shown
for 2 seconds. The same applies to deactivating this mode. Whenever
"Direct" display has been activated, the symbol shown is indicated at
the top of the main screen.
Comment 1:
The "Standard" and "Direct" display modes are applicable only for
vertical measurements.
Comment 2:
Whenever data is sent in this mode, the current position of the mea-
suring insert is sent and not the most recent probe contact value.
6.8 Shrinkage
A shrinkage factor can be entered here, which is used in model making
for example. This function basically enables the measurement system
to "stretch" or "reduce" the result by a specified factor and this means
that all measured values will be multiplied by this factor.
Press and hold the button shown for 2 seconds to activate this functi-
on. Enter the desired shrinkage factor (from 0.7 to 1.2) and press the
Enter key.
Unless the shrinkage factor is "1", the symbol shown is indicated at the
top of the screen.
