6.4 Reversal of measurement direction

It is possible to change the measurement direction (changes measure-
ments from top to bottom into positive values instead of negative
values). This function is mainly used for measuring parts that exceed the
measurement range of the instrument.
Press and hold the +/- button for 2 seconds. The measurement direction
is changed and the symbol shown opposite is flashing on the screen.
Preset
Immediately following reversal of the measurement direction, the pre-
set value for the current reference point setting is replaced by the last
value (height or centre distance) measured before reversal.
Pressing the Preset button once will have the display initialise to this
last value. The original value for the Preset value will be adopted as a
result. The corresponding indicator is shown for as long as the function
remains active.
Procedure:
1. Measure the part as your normally would.
2. Turn the part once the available measurement range has been
reached.
3. Change the measurement direction.
4. Repeat the last measurement (probe surface or determine centre
distance).
5. Press the Preset button (display adopts the last measured value).
6. Continue with measurements.
Exiting the function
You can exit the function by pressing and holding the +/- button again
for 2 seconds.
