Note: Inner and outer tailgates must be in the fully down position for the speaker
system to operate.
Close the step over the speaker baffle and check clearance from
step to baffle. If additional clearance is needed open inner tailgate
and loosen the two hinge bolts on each side. Slide step away from
baffle and retighten hinge bolts. Recheck clearance and make sure
step still closes easily. Fig 17

Tailgate Speaker System will not power on.

Check fuse at trailer connector T‐Harness
Make sure inner and outer tailgates are in the fully
down position.
Check vehicle battery voltage.
Check trailer accessory fuse in fuse box.
Check harness connection at amplifier.
Check Bluetooth controller connection at amplifier.
Check four‐pin connector at black module attached
to amplifier bracket.
Check that proper mode is selected, e.g. Bluetooth,
Aux, USB. Refer to Bluetooth Controller User
Manual.
Make sure foam tape is applied to rear of speaker
baffle.
Make sure all wires are wire‐tied securely and not
touching the speaker baffle or tailgate.
There is no issue. Tailgate Speaker System is
designed to only operate when both inner and outer
tailgates are folded fully down.
In certain areas the system may be affected by
interference from other RF devices. This problem
should correct itself once out of range of
interference.
