Security
Use this menu to configure how to help secure your device and its data.
On the Settings screen, tap Security.
Screen lock – Allows you to set a screen lock type to secure your
device.
Owner info – Allows you to display the owner information on the lock
screen in case the device is lost.
Smart Lock – Sets to keep your device unlocked with trusted device
or a place. if you need more information, please refer to Smart Lock
section in Locking and unlocking the device.
Encrypt phone – Allows you to encrypt data on the device for
security. You will be required to enter a PiN or password to decrypt
your device each time you power it on.
Set up SIM card lock – Sets the PiN to lock your SiM card and allows
you to change the PiN.
Make passwords visible – Enable to briefly show each character of
passwords as you enter them so that you can see what you enter.
Device administrators – View or deactivate device administrators.
Unknown sources – Allow installation of non-Play Store applications.
Storage type – displays the current storage type.
Trusted credentials – Allows applications to access your device's
encrypted store of secure certificates and related passwords and
other credentials. You use credential storage to establish some types
of VPN and Wi-Fi connections. if you have not set a password for the
secure credential storage, this setting is dimmed.
Install from phone storage – Tap to install a secure certificate.
Clear credentials – deletes all secure certificates and related
credentials and erases the secure storage's own password.
Trust agents – Select apps to use without unlocking screen.
Screen pinning – You can enable your device to only show a certain
app's screen using screen pin.
Apps with usage access – Allows you to enable or disable the apps
that can view your device's app usage.
