Open the water supply and let the water rinse the
hydraulic circuit for 1 minute. Repeat until there's no
hydrogen peroxide left inside. Hydrogen peroxide pre-
sence can be determined with the use of the hydrogen
peroxide detection strips.
8. SELF-TAPPING SADDLE VALVE
Contains:
•
Self-piercing tap valve and clamp for 3/8" to 1" O.D.
copper or 3/8" to 3/4" iron pipe or PVS/CPVC pipe.
•
Plastic sleeve, compression nut and brass insert(for
reinforcing PE tubing).
Tools required:
•
Screwdriver and wrench.
•
For Iron, PVC or CPVC pipe a drill with 3/16" bit.
Installation instructions:
1.
Turn water supply off.
2.
Connect one end of tubing to water inlet of applian-
ce with compression nut, sleeve and brass insert. If your
appliance has open tubing use brass sleeve or use
plastic sleeve with brass insert to reinforce polyethyle-
ne tubing. Be sure to remove brass compression sleeve
from union or other connection and insert plastic sleeve
when connecting compression union to polyethylene
tube, do not forget the brass insert for polyethylene tu-
bing. Excess tubing may remain coiled behind applian-
ce to allow for moving or cleaning.
3.
Open tap valve by turning handle counter clockwise
until piercing tip is retracted into the body of the valve
(failure to do this will break the tip during installation).
4.
Make sure black washer is secured under the top
clamp.
5.
Place one bolt into bottom clamp with one or two
turns.
6.
Position top clamp on nearest cold watter supply line.

Rotate bottom clamp under supply line (fig. 2). Tighten
both bolts evenly (fig. 3).
Pipe
ATTENTION: if supply line is copper tube then
please disregard steps 7 and 8.

Make sure water is turned off. Drill 3/16" hole in pipe.

Position clamp assembly so the washer is centered
directly over hole. Tighten bolts evenly.
9.
Place compression nut and sleeve on tubing, use
brass insert to reinforce polyethylene tubing.
10.
Insert tubing all the way into valve and tighten com-
pression nut with wrench. Do not over tighten.
11.
Slowly turn handle clockwise as far as it will go, ca-
refully inserting piercing tip trough washer into supply
line. Make sure it pierces the line or cleanly enters the
hole drilled into iron pipe. If it doesn't, check alignment,
tighten clamp assembly and repeat.
12.
To let water flow, turn handle counterclockwise as
far as it will go. Turn on water supply and check for leaks.
