4.0 Preparation for measurement
4.1 Fixing the test object
•
Loosen the handwheel that is located at the side of the measurement
board.
•
Plug in the mounting spikes in a way to fit with the test object`s size, its
cross section dimension and its form as shown in the picture.
•
Now, place the object in-between the mounting spikes as shown in the
picture (B). The object`s rotation axis (B) should be situated in the
centre of the measurement board (1).
•
Especially in the case of non-rotation-symmetric test objects do make
sure that the test rotation axis is located in the centre of the
measurement board. If the axes do not match, as shown in picture A,
you will obtain incorrect results.
•
Now turn the knob clockwise; by doing so, the mounting spikes are
fastened round the test object. Up-front any measurement, please make
sure that the object is mounted properly. Tighten firmly, but pay
attention that the object – e.g. glass – does not break. You may find additional equipment for special

4.2 Tarring (Zeroing)
The instrument is being tared/zeroed and will indicate 0.00 by using the Reset-button.
5.0 Modes of operation
The mode of operation can be switched with the Mode-button. The lightening LED above the display indicates the
actually running mode of operation.
5.1 Indication of counter-clockwise (CCW) peak-values
In this mode of operation, the torque`s peak-value is collected while you are turning the test object
CCW (to the left, usually the direction to turn up lids). If you turn into the wrong direction, the actual
measurement values will be displayed blinkingly.
The peak-value is reset by pressing the Reset-button.
5.2 Immediate indication
In the immediate mode of operation, the actually applied torque measurement values are indicated.
A change of the torque`s effective direction is indicated by the algebraic sign (also see Chapter 6.4).
An eventually existing initial load is tared by pressing the Reset-button.
5.3 Indication of clockwise (CW) peak-values
