function is deactivated. In the case of TMI-300, the switching output can be adjusted accordingly to connect an
indicator, a counter or a switch.
7.1 Setting thresholds, TMI-200
At the date of delivery, the threshold monitoring function is switched off. You need to enter thresholds to switch
the function on. Please proceed as follows:
•
Switch the instrument off.
•
Keep the Reset-button pressed while switching the instrument on.
•
The display shows F01 now.
•
For setting the upper (high) threshold, press the Reset-button until ‚HI' is shown on the display.
•
Use the Mem-button to select the digits that you wish to alter, and operate the Recall-button to set the
respective value.
•
Press the Reset-button to set the lower threshold ‚LO'.
•
After having set the desired value, return to the main menue by pressing the Reset-button again.
7.2 Setting thresholds, TMI-200
7.2.1 Setting the thresholds
In the case of instruments of the TMI-300 series, thresholds can be set separately according to the torque`s
effective direction. Please proceed as follows :
•
Switch the instrument off.
•
Keep the Recall-button pressed while switching the instrument on.
•
The display shows ‚I-H' for the upper threshold in case of CCW rotation.
•
For setting the value, use the Mem-button to select the digits that you wish to set, and operate the Recall-
button to choose the respective value.
•
Press the Reset-button to set the lower threshold in case of CCW rotation ‚I-L'. Thereafter, set the upper and
lower threshold for CW rotation (‚C-H' and ‚C-L').
•
After having set the desired value, return to the main menue by pressing the Reset-button again.
7.2.2 Enabling and disabling the switching output
Proceed as follows to enable the switching output for threshold monitoring, or to disable it and therewith give way
the switching output for overload signals :
•
Switch the instrument off.
•
Keep the Reset-button pressed while switching the instrument on.
•
Press the Reset-button until F07 is displayed.
•
Choose Hi-Lo with the Mode-button to enable the switching output for threshold monitoring, or choose ovEr
respectively to disable it and give way for overload signals.
7.3 Result display of threshold monitoring function
The value that is shown on the display is compared with the afore set
threshold. If the actual value is below the lower threshold the red LED
under the threshold symbol ▼ will light up. If the displayed value is
higher than the upper threshold the red LED above the symbol ▲ will
light up. If the displayed value is within the range of lower and upper
threshold the green LED between both symbols ▼▲ will light up.
8.0 Measured data storage
8.1 Storing measured values
8.1.1 General storage function
If the instrument is set to the mode of storing peak-values of CCW or CW rotation, and the storage function of a
TMI-300 instrument is set to ,1st', the actually displayed peak-value is stored by pressing the Mem-button.
Afterwards, the instrument clears the value, and a further torque measurement can be conducted. Thus, the
instrument can store the peak-values of up to 1000 tests. Each stored value is allocated a consecutive number,
which is shown above in the display.
