The USB port generated always has to be closed
by clicking on STOP COMMUNICATION when
you have fi nished using the PC Software.
If this is not done in this way, when you try and
connect you will get the typical Windows error
message, indicating that the port is still open.
To make it operative again, close the PC soft-
ware, switch off the TRS-5000, switch it back
on again and restart the PC software. Select the
port and click on START COMM.
5.1.3.2 Languages

When we talk about languages, we are referring to the
languages that can be downloaded onto the TRS-5000
machine via the WINDOWS interface, and which will
serve to present the messages on the TRS-5000's display in
the different languages selected.
The languages that can be currently downloaded are as
follows:
• Italian
• English
• Français (French)
• Deutsch (German)
• Spanish
• Bulgarian
• Danish
• Polish
• Portuguese
• Rumanian
• Slovakian
• Turkish

To change the TRS-5000 copying machine's language
you have to access the "Language Parameters" window,
and to do this you enter Options in the pull-down menu
on the left-hand side and then in languages, or in the
Main menu "Options" "Languages". Then you have to
select the correct text file in the language you want, and
download it to the TRS-5000 machine (for example: file
ESP_TRS_v2_0.txt for the Spanish version).
When the download has been completed, the language
on the TRS-5000's screen will change to the language
selected (in the case of the example to Spanish), with all
the messages shown from then on in that language, until
another download is carried out in another language.
5.1.3.3 Updating the Program

When the Altuna JMA Group's Technical Department
tells you that there is an update for the TRS-5000 copying
machine, you update your machine by following the steps
given below:
A. Contact the Sales Department or the Customer Service
Department to tell them that you want to update your
machine.
B. The Altuna Group will send you the update files you
require either on a CD-ROM or by e-mail. At the
moment, there is the also the JMA web option, where
you can download the files you need yourself.
C. After receiving the files you have to copy them all to
your computer. They should always be copied into the
TRS-5000 directory already created in your computer,
creating a folder with the name of the version recei-
ved.
D. Once communication is established with the TRS5000,
to update it you have to select the file to be down-
loaded in "Options" in Update Program clicking on the
File button, in the pull-down menu on the left-hand
side or in the top program menu selecting "Options
/ Update Program " clicking on the File button in the
contextual menu that appears.
Once you have selected the file to be downloaded,
click on the Send button.
E. If the machine's firmware version is 1.06 or 1.06bxx or
earlier, the file to be downloaded will have the exten-
sion (.HEX). Reinitiate the TRS5000 by keeping the
READ and COPY buttons pressed at the same time until
the following text appears on the TRS-5000's screen:

F. If the TRS5000 firmware version is later than the above,
the file to be downloaded will have the extension
(.BIN) and you can download it straight away, obser-
ving the following message on the display:

G. Once you have selected the "Send" option, and down-
loading is being carried out, the message "Downloading
program" will appear on your PC screen and a counter
will count down the time left before the updating pro-
cess has been completed. Once it has been completed,
the message "Connected to PC" will reappear on the
TRS-5000's display, accompanied by a short beep.
