1. T E C H N I C A L D E S C R I P T I O N
The SR35/SR75 is a diamond core drilling machine which is operated only when fixed in a core drill rig
(2).
It is suitable for drilling into rock, concrete, asphalt and masonry. Through the addition of water through
the diamond drill bit (3) via the ball valve (1a) the drilled material is flushed away and the tool is cooled
(wet drilling). The drilling tool, the diamond drill bit (3), is a tube drill which is fitted with soldered-on or
welded-on segments impregnated with diamond splinters.
If necessary, the flushing water is extracted through a water collecting ring (4) by means of a suction unit.
The SR35/SR75 is water protected and therefore corresponds to the water protection class IP 55.
The motor is water-cooled, i.e. the cooling and rinsing water flows through the cooling coil of the motor
before being leaded to the drill bit.
On proper use water can not enter the machine. Thus it is possible to drill upwards vertically (overhead
drilling) without any further precautions.
In the SR35/SR75 an undervoltage trip is integrated, i.e. after a break of the mains voltage the machine
doesn't start accidentally on return of the voltage.
The SR35/SR75 is fitted with a novel SR-motor (SR = switched reluctance). The commutation
(alternating currenting of the stator poles) is managed by a power electronic which gets its orders from
a microcomputer. The speed is over the whole capacity range almost constant, therefore the start drilling
is made easier.
Besides the three power speeds that are changed over the gear, also the motor can be used in three
speeds.
Thus three faster motor speeds are available which can preferably be chosen for smaller drilling
diameters. Further more for the start drilling three lower motor speeds can be selected. All motor speeds
are chosen by simply pressing again the start button.

Convince yourself that the machine has not been damaged in transit. Check that the nominal voltage is
the same as the voltage indicated on the rating plate.
2.1 Electrical connection
Operate the SR35/SR75 only via a properly earthed socked. If required use only high-grade extension
cords with a sufficient cross-section:

Take care that the extension cord is not rolled up on use for reaching a sufficient heat removal.
Consider that the SR35/SR75 takes the maximal power from the electrical mains. Therefore do
not connect other users to the concerning fuse, as the mains and the fuse will then be
overloaded.
