The intelligent auto BLC (Backlight Compensation) is a new digital
light-level control system. It is activated automatically by a screen
histogram (contrast) and a 225-area window weighting integration
to simultaneously control the iris gain and white balance. This
feature ensures optimum picture quality within the field of view,
and maintains suitable picture clarity between the foreground and
background.
Central Window Weighted Average Backlight Compensation:
Uses this method when the main object is fixed within the
field of view.
Histogram Backlight Compensation: Uses this method when
the main object moves within the field of view
The combination of the two types of Backlight Compensation
enables perfect pictures quality, and automatically adjusts to
account for the different types of activity within the Cameras
field of view.
Note: Backlight compensation may not be sufficient when the
background is extremely bright.

ONNECTIONS
To obtain a video output, connect a video coaxial cable terminated
with a 75 ohm BNC connector to the video output BNC socket (N)
at the rear of the camera. Connect the other end of the cable to
the monitor, video recorder, multiplexer or another video device.
On selected cameras there is also a second buffered video output
socket (BNC) indicated as monitor output socket (G). This
provides an independent video output to video output (N), and has
a variety of useful applications.
To save time when setting up the camera, or on a
maintenance visit, connect a test monitor to this socket (G),
without disturbing the original connection (N).
In the event of a power transient which can travel down the
coaxial cables, and potentially cause damage to the main
video output. The second video output (G) can be used in its
place. To connect to another video device or system.
On other selected cameras, this output may be replaced with a
GENLOCK input for synchronisation purposes.
The GENLOCK facility synchronises to either a 1-Volt peak to
peak video signal or a standard Sync plus blanking signal. A
signal connected to the GENLOCK input automatically overrides
all other synchronisation settings.
