OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Cause
No voltage or voltage below
the limit values
Voltage interruptions
Sensor is faulty
Sensor is still ready for oper‐
ation, but the operating condi‐
tions are not ideal
Distance between the sensor
and the background is too
short
Distance between the sensor
and the object is too long or
sensing range is set too short

Measures
Check the power supply,
check all electrical connec‐
tions (cables and plug connec‐
tions)
Ensure there is a stable power
supply without interruptions
If the power supply is OK,
replace the sensor
Check the operating condi‐
tions: Fully align the beam
of light (light spot) with the
object / Clean the optical sur‐
faces / Readjust the sensitiv‐
ity (potentiometer) / Check
sensing range and adjust
if necessary,
see figure 3,

Reduce the sensing range,
see figure 3
increase the sensing range,
take note of the distance
between the sensor and the
background,
see figure 3
