■
The non-rotary percussive tool is to be operated
and maintained in accordance with the recom-
mendations contained in this manual to reduce
any unnecessary increase of the vibrations.
■
Do not use your free hand to hold the machine
tool, as this will increase the impact of the vibra-
tions.
■
Hold the machine securely but not too firmly
while maintaining the necessary hand-reaction
force, as the vibration risk generally increases
the harder the machine is held.
■
If you are using suspended handles, hold them
in the middle and avoid pushing the handles up
to the stops.
■
When working on concrete, use crushers to
knock out small parts to prevent the tool from
seizing.
■
Move the cutting tool of the crushers every few
seconds. Stop the crusher when lifting the tool
to change its position, as strong vibrations may
occur when pulling the machine up by the han-
dles.
■
To prevent injury, all worn, broken or bent parts
of the locking mechanism must be replaced
immediately.

Additional safety instructions for
pneumatic machines
■
Compressed air can cause serious injury.
–When the machine is not in use, the air sup-
ply must always be shut off and the air hose
depressurised. The machine must be discon-
nected from the compressed air supply be-
fore replacing accessories or when carrying
out repair work.
–Never aim the airflow at yourself or anyone
else.
■
Thrashing hoses can cause serious injury. You
should therefore always check whether the hos-
es and their fixings are undamaged and have
not come loose.
■
Cold air must be directed away from the hands.
■
Do not use quick-lock couplings on the inlet. For
hose connections with a thread, always only
use those made of tempered steel (or a material
with comparable impact resistance).
■
If universal rotary joints (claw couplings) are
used, locking pins must be inserted and Whip-
check hose restraints must be used to provide
protection in the event of failure of the connec-
tion between the hose and the machine or be-
tween one hose and another.
■
Ensure that the maximum permissible pressure
on the machine is not exceeded.
■
Never carry pneumatic machines by the hose.
