1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The SC-20e is a type 1 sound level meter that includes many features and it is very easy to
operate. It has a single range, and so it is not necessary to pre-set the measurement range
in terms of the signal level to be measured. All the functions are processed at the same time
but only the value of the selected function is displayed. When the measurement is finished all
the functions can be consulted, together with their maximum values.
It is possible to connect a printer to register the values of the selected function. Printing can
be carried out in real time or at the end of the measurement, so that the noise of the printer
does not interfere with the measurement. At the end of each printout, there is a summary
with all the functions and a statistical analysis.
The SC-20e also can be connected to a computer. A program for PC or compatible is
supplied with the SC-20e. This program allows the communication with the SC-20e, graphic
and numeric presentations, to store results on the hard disk of the computer, statistical
analysis, etc.
The DC output supplies a continuous voltage that is equivalent to the value shown on the
display. This output can be used to connect a graphic recorder.
The AC output is the preamplifier's output and has no frequency weighting. This output can
be used to record the signal on DAT or magnetic tape.
Once the measurement has been completed, the length of time that the measurement has
lasted and the percentiles L , L , L , L , L , L and L can be consulted.

The set consisting of the preamplifier (PA-13) and microphone (C-130) of the SC-20e is
removable. This allows moving away the microphone from the SLM by using the extension
cable (CNR-010).
It is just possible to use the set of preamplifier (PA-14) and microphone (C-250) if the SC-
20e has been properly prepared in factory, therefore if the sound level meter is prepared to
work with the set (PA-13 + C-130) and is wanted to work with (PA-14 + C-250) you will have
to sent the SC-20e to factory to prepare it.
You can use the environmental kit for microphone (KT1000) with the SC-20e in order to carry
out outdoor and environmental measurements.
