3. Installation
3.4 AC Input/Output Connections
CAUTION: AC leakage current detection at the input and output of the Inverter/Charger, the AC
circuit should be able to withstand 50 Hz, 1500V AC, I<10mA.
CAUTION! Before connecting to AC input power source, please install a separate AC breaker
between the Inverter/Charger and AC input power source. This will ensure the Inverter/Charger
can be securely disconnected during maintenance and fully protected from overcurrent of the
AC input. The recommended specification of the AC breaker is 30A (40A if allowing for max AC
charge usage). There are two terminal blocks marked "IN" and "OUT." DO NOT cross-wire the
input and output connections.

WARNING! All wiring must be performed by qualified personnel. It is very important for system
safety and efficient operation to use appropriate cable for AC input connections. To reduce risk
of injury, use the recommended cable size shown in the table below.

Note: The C13 (APSWX2K24VMPPT) and C19 (APSWX3K24VMPPT) AC output outlets are available to plug device(s) directly
into the Inverter/Charger.
3.5 PV Connections
Your Tripp Lite Inverter/Charger includes a built-in MPPT Solar Charge Controller. There is a set of PV Input
connections to attach an array of PV modules for OFF-Grid/Hybrid (AC+Solar) applications.
CAUTION! The inverter uses a photovoltaic module to charge the battery, which the battery
inverts the AC output. It is a stand-alone inverter off-grid, so array insulation resistance
measurement and response are not provided. An external array insulation resistance detection
device should be installed at the PV input terminal.
CAUTION! Before PV modules can be connected to the Inverter/Charger, it is highly
recommended to install a separate DC disconnection switch between the inverter and the PV
modules.
WARNING! It is very important for system safety and efficient operation to use appropriate
cable for PV module connections. To reduce risk of injury, refer to the table below.
CAUTION: When the photovoltaic panels are exposed to light, they supply a DC voltage to PCE.
For photovoltaic array configuration, refer to the PV Specification and Configuration tables in
this section.
