8.3.2 Replacing the HEPA filter
WARNING!
The HEPA filter element weighs up to 5 kg and has sharp edges.
Please wear safety shoes to protect against leg and foot injuries should the filter
element be dropped.
CAUTION!
The centre of gravity of the appliance is higher when the housing cover is open.
Lock the wheels and ensure that the appliance stands securely.
Proceed as follows to replace the HEPA filter:
1. Switch off the fan and the UV-C lamps*
(see the sections 7.3 and 7.6).
2. Use the plug to remove the power cord from the
socket on the back of the appliance.
3. Unlock the lock of the housing lid with the supplied
key and open the lid.
CAUTION!
Danger of tipping when opening the housing lid!
Lock the castors before you open the housing lid!
* Applies to models with integrated UV lamps

WARNING OF HAND INJURY!
Make sure that the lid of the housing is opened as far as it
will go and secured with the locking lever so that it cannot
fall down while the filter is being changed.
CAUTION!
Danger of tipping with the lid open!
Do not steady yourself by holding onto the appliance, and
do not move it – otherwise the device could tip over!
4. Grasp the HEPA filter on the side of the frame and pull it up and
out of the housing. To protect against injury, avoid direct contact
with the filtration surface.
For filter disposal, please observe the special safety instructions.
5. Insert the new HEPA filter into the housing so that its rubber
seal faces downwards. Lightly press the filter element down
so that it is firmly seated in the housing.
6. Slowly close the lid with one hand while at the same time using
the other hand to push the locking lever forwards to release
the locking mechanism.
WARNING OF HAND INJURY!
Be careful not to pinch your fingers when
closing the lid.
