OPERATION / SETTINGS
ON/OFF
The mains voltage must correspond to the voltage shown on the
hammer's rating plate. Switching on - press the switch button (5)
and hold it in this position (fig B). Switching off - release pressure
on the switch button (5).
OPERATING MODE SWITCH
The hammer is equipped with a 2-function operating mode switch (3).
Depending on the setting, drilling with impact or chiselling can be
performed. Drilling with impact as well as chiseling requires a low
hammer pressure. Excessive pressure would unnecessarily put too
much load on the motor. The working condition of the tools must be
checked regularly. If necessary, the working tools must be sharpened
or replaced.
Drilling with impact - set the switch (3) to the position before the
symbol (drill and hammer) (fig. C). Chiseling - set the switch (3) in front
of the symbol (hammer).
Do not attempt to change the position of the mode switch while the
hammer engine is running. Doing so could result in serious
damage to the hammer.
INDICATOR LIGHT FOR VOLTAGE CONNECTION
When the percussion hammer is connected to the power socket, the
voltage connection indicator lamp (6) is illuminated.
DRILLING WITH IMPACT
• Select the appropriate operating mode, in this case drilling with
impact.
• Insert a suitable drill bit with an SDS-MAX shank into the chuck (1).
• For best results, use high quality drills with carbide (widia) caps.
• Press the drill against the workpiece.
• Switch on the hammer, the hammer mechanism should run smoothly
and the working tool should not bounce on the surface of the work
material.
OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Unplug the power cord from the mains socket before carrying out
any installation, adjustment, repair or operation.
• Keep the hammer clean at all times.
• Never use any caustic agents to clean the plastic parts of the
hammer.
• After work, the hammer should be blown with a jet of compressed air
to remove the dust build-up, particularly to clear the ventilation slots
in the engine housing.
• The condition of the motor's carbon brushes must be checked
regularly (dirty or excessively worn brushes can cause excessive
sparking and a drop in the speed of the hammer spindle).
GEAR LUBRICATION
It is recommended to check the lubricant in the gearbox every 50 hours
of use of the hammer and to top up the lubricant if necessary.
• Loosen and unscrew the cover (4) of the lubrication point (by turning
to the left) (fig. D).
• Refill with grease.
• Fit the cover (4) and tighten it by turning it clockwise (do not
overtighten to avoid damaging the threads).
• Do not put in too much grease.
REPLACEMENT OF CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or cracked carbon brushes of the
motor must be replaced immediately. Always replace both brushes
at the same time.
Only a qualified person should replace the carbon brushes using
original parts.
ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE ON THE USE OF THE HAMMER
To get the best performance in concrete, some constant, moderate
pressure (not excessive) should be exerted on the hammer, as this
would result in a decrease in working efficiency. A hammer filled with
solid lubricant requires some warm-up time, depending on the
ambient temperature. A new hammer requires a 'run-in' period before
becoming fully operational. As mentioned earlier, high performance
is ensured by using sharpened tools, and taking care to keep the
vents clean.
• Any defects should be rectified by the manufacturer's authorised
service department.
