CHANGE OF TIPS
5.1 Make sure the tip has cooled down before removing it.
5.2 The catalyst visible through the hot air outlet at the soldering tip is very sensitive
and will not withstand improper mechanical handling without serious damage.
5.3 The soldering tip can be easily removed to allow the attachment
of tips of a different design, or to replace used tips. to replace. After the solder seat
has cooled down, simply unscrewit anticlockwise. Caution -do not overtighten - this
may damage the mouthpiece and the thread inside the unit.
CLEANING OR REPLACING THE SPARE IGNITION
6.1 Remove the soldering tip and collar in the usual way!
6.2 While holding the soldering iron in the vertical position, unscrew
mouthpiece (A) from the soldering iron (C). You will need pliers or another tool to
unscrew it. But do not screw the ceramic head (D). 6.3 Carefully remove the
ignition (B) from the soldering iron. Make sure that the shorter side of the ignition
fits into the soldering iron!
6.4 Soak the ignition in petroleum ether or similar solvents for about 5 minutes.
6.5 Now put the cleaned (or new) ignition into the soldering iron
(Don't f orget to put the short side into the soldering iron).
6.6 Now also screw the mouthpiece back on in the same way as for disassembly!
