OUTPUT LEVEL CONTROLS:
Independent front & rear output level controls vary the levels of front & rear outputs
from unity gain (0 dB) to —20 dB.
This is helpful in adjusting the total system balance by sending different levels of
signal to front & rear channels.
POWER-ON INDICATOR:
An LED gives visual confirmation of whether the unit is in operation. Helps system
troubleshooting.
FRONT INPUT (CH 1/2) TERMINALS:
In 4-channel/2-input mode, connect your head unit's front output terminals to these
gold-plated RCA input terminals. In 4-channel/1-input & 2-channel modes, this serves
as the only input terminal. Rear input terminals (CH 3/4) are disabled.
REAR INPUT (CH 3/4) TERMINALS:
Use this terminal only in 4-channel/2-input mode. Connect the head unit's rear output
to this input terminal. The rear input (CH 3/4) is disabled in 4-channel/1-input & 2-
channel modes.
@
FRONT OUTPUT (CH 7/2) TERMINALS:
Connect this terminal to the input of the front channel active dividing network, power
amplifier or other signal processing component.
Front outputs are disabled in the 2-channel mode.
REAR OUTPUT (CH 3/4) TERMINALS:
Connect these to the input of the rear channel active dividing network, power amplifier
or other signal processing device.
POWER CONNECTORS:
Connect to Battery, Ground & Remote-Turn-On signals:
@
The Battery terminal should be connected directly to the battery. Do not connect
this terminal to the vehicle's electrical system wiring (such as dome-light circuit,
etc.). Please add an additional in-line 5A fuse as close as possible to the battery's
positive (+) terminal.
@
The Ground terminal connection should be a clean, bare metal part of the vehicle's
chassis (an already installed screw, if possible). Scrape off paint or corrosion from
this grounding point.
@
The Remote-Turn-On terminal should be connected to the remote turn-on wire or
power antenna output from the head unit. This will allow the 3402 to turn on & off
simultaneously with the head unit.
FUSE:
'
A 3A
fuse protects the unit from damage. If the unit's remote-on light does not turn
on, first check this fuse. If the fuse has blown, replace it with a new one of the same
value (do not use larger value fuses). If the fuse blows again, there is a problem with
the wiring and/or the unit itself. Your Alpine dealer can identify & correct the problem.
