1) INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing ZB04.
Please set the machine at work only after reading this in-
struction manual carefully. In case of trouble, please contact
your retailer for assistance. This manual provides all the infor-
mation you need to install and use the fixture correctly, and
gives you useful advice. Keep this manual for future reference.
2) UNDERSTANDING REVERSE OSMOSIS
ZB04 is a machine for reverse osmosis water treatment. Its
functioning is based on semipermeable membranes, that al-
low water to flow through them but keep the salts dissolved
in it. This machine is easy to use and does not require any
chemical substance.
Water flows and is filtered by the active carbon filter, that
traps the small sediments and chlorine, so becoming crystal
clear.
Once clear, water flows through the reverse osmosis mem-
branes, where the main treatment takes place. Mineral salts
and possible bacteria are removed, and you can obtain pure
water up to 98% (fig. 5).
Anyway, we must consider that not all the water that will flow
through the membranes will be treated, because a part of it
has the purpose to keep the membranes clean, carrying away
the removed substances, and will then flow to the drain.
The Feed Water is the water that flows through the mem-
brane, while the part that flows through it and is treated to be
used is the Permeate. The Concentrate, instead, is the part
of water that is not treated and will flow to the drain.

In normal conditions, the concentrate is greater than the per-
meate. For example, if the feed water is 100 litres, we will
obtain 15 litres of permeate and will unload 85 litres of con-
centrate. Unfortunately, these proportions cannot be changed,
or we would risk damaging the membrane.
In order to increase the efficiency, ZB04 membranes are con-
nected in series (fig. 5). The concentrate that comes out of the
first membrane then becomes the feed water for the second
membrane.
Doing so, we can double the efficiency and with 100 litres of
feed water we will obtain 30 litres of permeate and 70 litres
of concentrate.
3) SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
The main parts of the machine are:
• Four 2812 membranes
• One 90w pump
• 1 filter with 1 active carbon cartridge + 1 spare cartridge
• One 3-litre expansion vase
• 2 over/under pressure shut off devices
• 1 electro-valve
• 1 electric board

5) SUPPLY WATER FEATURES

Should you not follow the following warnings, the manufactu-
rer is not responsible for any damage and/or injury caused to
people, objects or animals. This will also void any warranty.
1. Installation, setting at work and maintenance must be car-
ried out only by a qualified personnel, well practised with
this kind of fixture and who thoroughly knows current local
safety regulations.
2. Keep away from children.
3. Do not try to repair the machine as you could damage it.
Always advise to qualified personnel.
4. Do not expose the fixture to rain and damp.
5. Do not touch or use the machine with wet or damp hands
or feet, or barefoot.
6. Before installing the machine, make sure it is not faulty or
damaged because of transport; if in doubt, please contact
your retailer.
7. Repair and maintenance must be carried out only with the
original spare parts.
8. This machine only guarantees the osmotization of cold
drinkable water. Any other use is considered unreasonable.
