TRANSFORMERS FOR
LIMITED TIME MANUAL
ARC WELDING
NOTE:
In the instructions the term "welder"
will be used.
SAFETY
WARNING!
Use the welder as is indicaeed in
the instructions i.e.
"arc welding with stick electrodes"
Improper use of this welder can be
dangerous for persons,animals and
objects. The user of the welder is
responsable for his own and the
safety of others: it is most important
to read, learn and respect the rules
in this manual.
EQUIPMENT
Repair and maintenance operations
must be camied out by qualified
persons.
Maintain machine in good condition
(keep clean, dry etc.).
During welding do not locate
machine in a confined space or
close to the wall, which will block
air outiets.
Make sure connection is correct
from welder to supply line . Amoid
stretching the supply cable; unplug
before moving machine.
Keep welding cables, collet and
work clamp in good condition;
kearing out of isolation and
tructural parts carrying current is
DANGEROUS and results in poor
welding quality.
WORK AREA
Arc welding produces sparks and
fused metal projectiles and fumes:
Remove all flammable substances
and materials from work area
provide adepuate ventilation of
facilities where welding takes place;
Do not weld on containers or pipes
which hold or have held flammable
8
liquid or gasoous combus tibles
(danger of explosions
and/or fires) or on materials
cleaned with chiorinated solvents
or on varnished surfaces (danger of
toxic fumes).
PERSONNEL
Avoid direct contact with welding
circuit; the no-load voltage between
collet and work clamp can be dange
ous. Do not use the machine in
damp or wet places and do not weld
in the rain. Always protect your
eyes with the fitting glasses (grade
DIN 9-10) equipped with machine.
Use gloves and proper protective
clothing which are dry and not
soiled by oil or grease. Avoid
exposing skin to the ultrviolet rays
produced by the arc.
REMEMBER
The light radiation produced by the
are can damage eyesight and
cause burns on the skin.
Arc welding produces sparks and
droplets of fused metal; the
welded metal remains at a high
temperature for a relatively long
period. Arc welding emits fumes
which can be dangerous.
Any electric shock received is
potentially leghai.
Avoid directly exposing skin to the
are for a rangi of 15m.
Protect self and persons close to
the machine appropriately
according to the potential daners
of the are.
GENERAL INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION
These welders are composed of a
monophase transformer with a
drooping charactenshe. And are
suitable for welding in altennate
current using seck electrodes type
E43 R) with diameters 'from 1,5m
to the highest eletrode diameter as
reported on the data table on ront
panel of welder.
Weiding ourrent may be regulated
with continlity using a manual
magnetic shunt (1). The value of
the current (2) may be read on
the Amp grauated scare (2) on the
opper panel. And correspords to the
voltage of the are (U2) according
to the epuation U2= (18-0.04 l2) V
(EN 50060).

PERFORMANCE
The performance of this welder may
be expressed by the number of
electrodes : "no" and "nh".
- no refors to the number of
electrodes which may be welded
when the welder commences
at romm temperature until the
thermostat intervenes;
- nh refers to the AVERAGE VALUE
of the number of electrodes
which may be welded between re-
start and intervention of thermostat,
in the first hous of use;
THERMOSTATIC
PROTECTION
This welder is automatically
protected from thermic overheating
(thermostat automatic re-start).
Windings reach performance
temperature,the protections cut off
the supply circuit,igniting the yellow
lamp on the front panel (3) After
a few minutes 5 cooling the
protection will repen the supply line
ane turn off the yellow lamp. The
welder is ready for further use.
