LW: 4 — 6) is pressed while the MEMORY indicator
is lighted.
NOTE:
An FM station and an AM (MW or LW) station ca
be preset in a single button.

PRESET TUNING
1. Press the FM, AM (MW, LW) FUNCTION switch ®).
2. Press the PRESET button @0 into which the station to
be recalled has already been preset.
LAST CHANNEL MEMORY
When the power switch is set to OFF (1), the micro-
computer memorizes
the station which was received
last, and when it is set to ON (x9) again, this memorized
station
is recalled.
This function
is also operational
when the FUNCTION switches @) are reset.
Since the reception frequencies have been memorized
by the microcomputer, supported by the capacitor, the
contents of the memory will not be erased for about 1
weeks.

5. Playback starts as soon as the playback button @) is
pushed.
6. Press the pause button @2 to stop the tape at any
time during playback, and press the playback button
@) to resume playback.
7. Press the stop button

playback is com-
pleted.
Press the REC MUTE button @) to cut off the sound
whichis being recorded. Four seconds later, the unit
automatically enters the recording stand-by mode.
Press the playback button @) to continue recording.
Press the stop button @8 when the recording is com-
pleted.
To obtain the best performance from this unit, it is
recommended that you use the tapes : HITACHI! UD
(NORM - I position), HITACHI EX (CrO, - TI position)
and HITACHI ME (METAL - IV position).
A high recording level with a wide dynamic range can
be obtained.
ERASING TAPES
To erase a previous recording without making a new re-
cording, set the record level control @) to 0" and then
proceed with the recording operation.
