SEND MODE
While moving in an avalanche exposed terrain the transceiver
must be in SEND mode with the transmit control LED blinking
in green.
INTERFERENCES
All beacons are very sensitive to electronic, magnetic and metallic sources of
interference. Therefore, all manufacturers recommend keeping a minimum distance
from devices such as mobile phones, smart watches, radios, keys, heated garments,
electronic airbags and magnetic closures, etc..
Despite the PIEPS PRO IPS being equipped with advanced protection technologies the
following safety distances to potential interfering sources are recommended:
Minimum distance in SEND mode: 20 cm | Minimum distance in SEARCH mode: 50 cm
IPS – INTERFERENCE PROTECTION SYSTEM IN SEND MODE
IPS is a unique technology that continuously monitors the
influence of electronic interferences on the transmitting device
by processing and adapting to the interference signals. Hence
the PIEPS PRO IPS delivers the optimal transmitting power with
respect to interfering signals.
SIGNAL VERIFICATION – INTERFERENCE PROTECTION IN SEARCH MODE
The PIEPS Advanced Signal Verification only displays avalanche transceiver signals
and no "ghost" signals from other sources.

GROUP CHECK
The PIEPS PRO IPS provides two options for a group check. These do not replace the
standard mode check, but are useful features with larger groups. In both group check
modes, the receiving range is limited to 1 m.
REGULAR MODE
With the regular group check mode you can test if your group's
transceivers are sending correctly.
To enter the regular group check mode, fold out the antenna to
SEARCH position and press the ON/OFF button. After self check,
press the FUNCTION button while the group check countdown is
active.
While performing the group check, the distance between the
individual members of the group must be at least 5 m. The
group check mode is active for 60 seconds and terminates
automatically after a countdown. To remain in group check
mode press the FUNCTION button during the countdown.
To exit at any time press the FUNCTION button.
