MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORK
All maintenance, cleaning and repair operations MUST ALWAYS be undertaken with the
engine off and with plug disconnected in the event of an appliance with electric motor.
While if you have a shredder with an internal combustion engine, you should switch off
the engine and extract the spark plug cap.
Always check that all the fixture screws are securely tightened. This kind of check is
essential particularly in relation to the screws of the cutting appliance and of the hopper-
carrier casing.
Check that the safety switch is functional. To check this it is necessary to loosen the screw
that is in contact with the micro switch while the engine is running. The engine should
stop after only a few seconds.
Then position the operating switch to OFF and then tighten the screw again. Should the
engine fail to stop it means that the micro switch must be replaced before using the
shredder again.
The use of the appliance is prohibited if the micro switch is defective.
Always thoroughly clean the appliance, by carefully lubricating all the mobile parts. As
concerns maintenance operations on the engine always consult the use and maintenance
instructions provided by the engine producer.
In the event of any repair work which may be needed on the engine, contact a retailer
authorized by the engine producer and refer to the list contained in the use and
maintenance instructions provided by the engine manufacturer.
Regularly sharpen the cutters and undertake to replace all the worn ones.
After use thoroughly clean the appliance and wash the inside of the volute under running
water.

Should it be necessary to open the inside of the appliance for any cleaning or
maintenance operations, it is necessary to carefully follow these instructions.
