4. Play back the portion of the source the
level of which is maximum.
The REC
LEVEL control will move automatically so
that the recording level at this peak is the
preset value.
Once the recording level
has been optimized, the LED indicator in
the control will change from flickering to
steady lighting and the setting will be
complete. Henceforth, the peak level will
be monitored. If the peak recording level
overshoots
the
preset
level,
the
recording level will be lowered by the
corresponding amount.
5. Go back to the beginning of the program
source to be recorded before starting
recording.
Even during recording, the
ARLS function continues to operate,
6. Ifthe ARLS button is pressed once again,
the ARLS mode will be cleared.
CD CHECK Function
This is only possible with certain CD players,
including the TEAC CD-P4100. When the CD
CHECK button is pressed, this unit enters the
monitor mode, allowing you to adjust the
recording level with the CD player in the "fast
playback" mode,
1. Set both decks to the STOP mode, then
press the CD CHECK
button.
The
counter display will indicate "cdch'.
2. Start the CD player and set to the fast
playback mode,
3. During fast playback, adjust the recording
level using the REC LEVEL control and
BALANCE control*.
* Adjusting the recording level can also
be done automatically using the ARLS
function. To do this, after making sure
that recordable cassette(s) are in the
deck(s), press the ARLS button.
4. To release the CD level check, press
either deck's STOP button.
" The checking of the CD level is possible
when both decks are in the stop mode.
Recording level adjustment using CD
level check is only possible when the CD
player is in the fast play mode; do not
perform this adjustment when the CD
player is in the normal play mode.
Some CD players do not output signals at
the correct level in the fast play mode.
"Fading In/Out Function
Fading in is gradually raising the recording
level from zero at the beginning of a
recording and fading out is gradually
decreasing the level to zero at the end of the
recording; With this unit, fading in and fading
out can be done automatically with the
FADER button.
Note:
This function
works
only when
recording
through the LINE
IN
terminals.
Fading In
During the record-pause mode, press the
FADER button (the LED indicator in the
control will blink). The REC LEVEL control will
quickly turn from the original set position* to
the zero position with the deck in the record-
pause mode then tape starts recording and
the control gradually turns towards the
original set position* (the LED indicator will go
off).
Fading out
During recording, press the FADER button
(the LED indicator in the contro! will blink).
The REC LEVEL control gradually turns from
the original set position* to the zero position
with deck in the record mode. As soon as the
control reaches the zero position, it quickly
returns to the original set position* (the LED
indicator will go off) with the deck in the
record-muting mode (a four-second blank
space will be left on the tape). Then the deck
enters the record-pause mode.
* If necessary, prior to the fading in/out
operations, adjust the recording level
(turn the REC LEVEL control manually or
use the ARLS function) to obtain the
optimum original setting,
CD Synchro
Dubbing (Deck II
only)
By connecting this unit to a TEAC CD
synchro compatible CD player (such as the
CD-25000
or CD-P4000)
which has a
CD/DECK SYNC terminal on its rear panel,
dubbing (recording) synchronized with the
CD player is possible.
1. Connect this unit's CD/DECK SYNC
terminal to the CD player's CD/DECK
SYNC terminal using an optional cable
(WR-7000) as shown below.
2. Perform programming of the "time edit",
etc.
functions
of the
CD
player
beforehand (refer to the instructions of
the CD player).
3. Set the source to CD using the amplifier's
source select buttons,
4. Set the recording level as explained in
step 8 of "Recording (from LINE IN) with
Deck | or II" on page 8.
5. Set the deck and the CD player to the
stop mode.

RC-425

The CD player will start automatically
approx. 1 sec after the deck starts
recording and dubbing will be performed,
