IMPORTANT:
In order to prevent overheating during towing, the screen should be remo-
ved from the air entrance tothe cooling fan. This screen is not present in
all models. To remove the screen, the front bumper must be removed, and
then the screen can be removed.
The vehicle is fitted with holes at the factory. Some drilling need be done.
FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove the rear bumper.
2. Saw the specified part from the underside of the bumper as per fig. 2.
Place the towbar and fasten it at points C using two bolts M10x35 inclu-
ding flat washers 25x10.5x4, and spring and flat washers and nuts as
per the sketch.
3. Place the spacer plates B on the interior between the chassis and tow-
bar. Fasten at point G two bolts M10x80 including flat and spring was-
hers and nuts. Fasten at points A two bolts M10x35 including flat was-
hers 25x10.5x4, flat washers, spring washers, and nuts as per the
sketch.
4. Fasten at the points D the supports E to the the towbar using four bolts
M10x35 including spring washers and nuts. See also fig. 3. Fasten at
the points F two bolts M10x35 including flat washers 25x10.5x4, flat and
spring washers and nuts. See also fig. 4. The ball post is attached to the
towbar using one bolt M12x65/21.2 and one bolt M12x70/26.2 including

flat washers, socket plate and self-locking nuts.
5. Tighten all bolts and nuts as per the table. Replace the bumper.
NOTE:
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting points.
* All bolts are quality 8.8 - nuts 8. or when mentioned in fitting instructions
10.9 / 10.
* Don't forget the spring- and plain washers.
* Consult your dealer for the maximum tolerated pull weight and ball
hitch pressure of your vehicle.
* It is recommendable to retighten all fixing bolts and nuts after the towbar
has been in use for some 1000 km/600 miles.
* Do not drill through brake-or fuellines.
* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
Torque settings for nuts and bolts (8.8):
