paneland is activatedby pullingoutward.Activatingthe choke
controlclosesthechoke plateon the carburetorand aids in starting

PTO (Blade Engage)
Control
Switch
Toengagethe electricPTOand providepower
to the cuttingdeck,pull outwardon the PTO
controlswitchknob. Pushthe switchknob
inwardto disengagethe PTOand stop the
cuttingdeck.
NOTE: ThePTOControlSwitchmustbe in the
disengaged(OFF) positionwhen startingthe
engine.

Parking
Brake Lever
NOTE: Theparkingbrakemustbe set if the
operatorleavesthe seatwith the engine running;
otherwisetheenginewill automaticallyshut off.
• Toset the parkingbrake,fully depressthe brake
pedaland pushthe bottomof parkingbrake
leverinward. See the imageto the rightfor
parkingbrakeidentification.Holdthe leverin
whileremovingyourfoot from the brakepedal.
Bothparkingbrakeleverand brakepedal will
staydepressed.
• To releasethe parkingbrake,depressthe brakepedal slightly.
The parkingbrakeleverwill then returnto its originalposition.
IMPORTANT:Alwaysset the parkingbrakewhen leavingthe
tractorunattended.
Forward
Control
Pedal
Theforwardcontrolpedal is locatedon the rightsideof thetractor,
at the frontof the rightrunningboard.Depressthe forwardcontrol
pedalto cause the tractorto travel in the forwarddirection.The for-
wardgroundspeedof the tractoris directlyaffectedby the distance
the pedalis depressed.Thefurther thepedal is depressed,the
fasterthetractorwill travel.The tractorwill slowand the pedal will
returnto its originalpositionwhen released.
Reverse
Control Pedal
The reversecontrolpedal is locatedin the rightfront runningboard
rearwardof the forwardcontrol pedal.Depressthe reversecontrol
pedalto cause the tractorto travel in reverse.The furtherthe pedal
is depressed,the fasterthe tractorwill travel.Thetractorwill slow
and the pedalwill returnto its original positionwhen released.
Brake Pedal
The brakepedal is locatedat the frontof the left runningboardand
is usedfor quick stops,or settingthe parkingbrake.This pedal
mustbe FULLY depressedto activatethe safety interlockswitch
whenstartingthe tractor.
Deck Lift Lever
Thedeck lift leveris locatedin the rightfenderand is usedto
changethe cuttingheightof the mowerdeck. Thecuttingheights
rangefrom 1-1/2"to 4". Eachof the six indexnotchesrepresentan
approximately 1/2" adjustment t o the deck height.To use,grasp
the lift leverhandle and pull slightlyupward(rearward)while pivot-
ing the leverinwardand out of its indexnotch.Movethe lift leveras
necessaryto place in the notchbest suitedfor yourapplication.
Afterchangingthe cuttingheightof the deck,you mustcheck
the positionof thedeck front gaugewheels.Theyshouldbe
approximately 1/2-inch abovethe groundwhenthe tractoris on a
smooth,flat surfacesuch as a driveway.Referto "Maintenance &

Cup Holder
Thetractor'scup holderis locatedon thefenderto the left of the
seat.
Seat Adjustment
Lever
The seatadjustmentleveris on the left sideof the seat. Use
this leverto adjustthe seat forwardor rearwardto a comfortable
operatingposition.See the "Maintenance & Adjustments"section
laterin this manualfor instructions.
Fuel Fill Cap and Fuel Level Window
Thefuel fill cap is locatedin thecenter of the rearfender.Pivotthe
seat forwardto fullyaccess thefuel fill cap and fill the fueltank.
Turnthe fill cap approximately 1/4turn and pull upwardto remove.
Pushthe capdownwardon the fuel tank fill neck and turn 1/4turn
clockwiseto tighten.
The levelof fuel in the fueltank can be viewedthroughthe fuel
levelwindowin the rearhitch plate.
Cargo Net
Conveniently locatedon the tractor'sdash panel,the cargonet can
be usedto storepersonalitemswhileoperatingthe lawntractor.
Hydro Transmission
Bypass Rods
The hydrotransmissionbypassrodsare locatedat the backof the
tractorabovethe rear hitch plate.Whenengaged,these levers
opena hydropumpbypassvalve in each transmission which
allowsthe tractorto be manuallypushedshort distances.See
the "Maintenance & Adjustments"sectionlater in this manualfor
instructions.
