1.5 SAFETY WARNINGS FOR BATTERY AND CHARGER
■
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions. When disposing of secondary cells or batteries,
keep cells or batteries of different electrochemical systems separate from each other.
■
Do not open or damage the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and may cause
damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed. Additionally, if your battery pack
has been damaged, seek to dispose of it properly and do not attempt to use it again.
■
Exercise care in handling the battery in order not to short it with conducting materials
such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause burns.
■
Keep the battery out of reach of children and in the original package until ready to use.
■
Keep batteries and chargers away from children.
■
If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and seek
to repair it.
■
Do not use a visibly damaged battery pack or tool.
■
Store in a secure setting away from other conductive materials including other batteries.
■
Do not subject cells or batteries to mechanical shocks.
■
Clean your battery pack regularly to avoid a poor connection.
■
Do not maintain secondary cells and batteries on charge when not in use.
■
Remove the battery from the equipment when not in use.
■
Use the battery only in conjunction with your power tool. This measure alone protects
the battery against dangerous overload.
■
Keep the battery charger away from rain or moisture. Penetration of water in the battery
charger may cause damage and increase the chance of injury.
■
Do not charge other batteries. The battery charger is suitable only for charging lithium-ion
batteries within the listed voltage range. Otherwise, there is a danger of fire and explosion.
■
Keep the battery charger clean. Contamination can lead to a danger of an electric shock.
■
Before each use, check the battery charger, cable, and plug. If damage is detected, do
not use the battery charger. Never open the battery charger yourself. Have repairs
performed only by a qualified technician and only using original spare parts. Damaged
battery chargers, cables, and plugs increase the risk of an electric shock.
■
Do not operate the battery charger on easily flammable surfaces (e. g., paper, textiles,
etc.) or surroundings. The heating of the battery charger during the charging process can
pose a fire hazard.
