To estimate the exposure to vibration accurately,
the times when the tool is switched off or when it is
running but not actually being used should also be
taken into account. This can significantly reduce
the exposure to vibration over the total working
period.
Implement additional safety measures to protect
the operator from the effects of vibration, such as
servicing the power tool and application tools,
keeping the hands warm, and organising work-
flows correctly.

Fitting Protective Equipment
Note: If the grinding disc breaks during operation
or the holding fixtures on the protective guard/
power tool become damaged, the power tool must
be sent to an after-sales service agent for main-
tenance.
Pull the plug out of the socket before carry-
u
ing out any work on the power tool.
Protective guard for grinding
the flange of the power tool and rotate the protect-
ive guard until it audibly clicks into place.
Adjust the position of the protective guard (11) to
meet the requirements of the operation. To do this,
push the unlocking lever (1) upwards and rotate
the protective guard (11) into the required position.
Adjust the protective guard (11) such that
u
sparking in the direction of the operator is
prevented.
The protective guard (11) must only be ad-
u
justable while the unlocking lever (1) is actu-
ated. Otherwise, the power tool must not be
used any more under any circumstances
and must be sent to the after-sales service.

Protective guard for cutting
Always use the protective guard for cutting

(13) when cutting with bonded abrasives.
Provide sufficient dust extraction when cut-

ting stone.
The protective guard for cutting (13) is fitted in the
same way as the protective guard for grinding
(11).
Extraction guard for cutting with a guide block
The extraction guard for cutting with a guide block
(20) is fitted in the same way as the protective
guard for grinding (11).
Extraction guard for sanding
The extraction guard (6) can be used to minimise
dust when sanding paint, varnish and plastics in
conjunction with the carbide grinding head (8). The
extraction guard (6) is not suitable for working
metals.
A suitable Förch dust extractor can be connected
to the extraction guard (6).
The extraction guard (6) is mounted in the same
manner as the protective guard (11). The brush
collar can be replaced.
Side handle

Do not operate your power tool without the

side handle (4).
Screw the side handle (4) on the left or right of the
machine head depending on how your are work-
ing.
Hand guard

Always fit the hand guard (15) when working
u
with the rubber sanding plate (16) or with the
cup brush/disc brush/flap disc.
Attach the hand guard (15) to the side handle (4).
Fitting the Abrasive Tools
Pull the plug out of the socket before carry-
u
ing out any work on the power tool.
Do not touch grinding and cutting discs until
u
they have cooled down. The discs can be-
come very hot while working.
Clean the grinding spindle (5) and all the parts to
be fitted.
Lock the grinding spindle with the spindle lock but-
ton (2) before clamping and releasing the abrasive
tools.
