The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol (on the packaging and/or product) indicates that the item is classified as EEE
(electrical and electronic equipment), and must therefore be disposed of in the appropriate WEEE (waste electrical and
electronic equipment) recycling containers.
Do not dispose of electrical and electronic equipment in household waste! European Directive 2012/19/EU on waste
electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), transposed into national legislation, stipulates that electrical and electronic
equipment that is no longer usable must be collected separately and sent for environmentally sound recovery, either by
disposing of it in the local authority's appropriate recycling containers or by returning it to the supplier when a
replacement product is purchased.
The manufacturer is directly or indirectly involved in the reuse, recycling or recovery of the item.
Incorrect disposal or use of electrical and electronic equipment or parts can be dangerous for the environment and
human health, due to potentially hazardous components.
Users who do not dispose of electrical and electronic waste correctly are liable to penalties imposed by the local
authorities.
