• These parts are identically patted and are freely inter¬
changeable.
ASSEMBLING
THE PLANE
For packing purposes the plane is fitted with two black
plastic arms These must be replaced with fence arms E by
slackening fence arm set screws T. positioning arms E
approximately midway through the holes. (On no account
should the plans be used with the black plastic arms.)
Tighten the screws and only change
the
fence
arm
position when the full fence capacity is required Fit cutter
clamping bracket B onto the fence arms. Place cutter H in
position by sliding it into the groove from underneath and
engage the cutter slot onto the collar of cutter adjusting
nut J Lightly tighten cutter clamping nut W sufficiently to
hold the cutter, adjust for depth of cut with cutter adjusting
nut J and firmly tighten nut W. Slide fence C onto fence
arms E tightening fence knurled screws D. To increase the
depth of the fence, fit an additional hardwood fence using
the holes provided. Prepare a piece of long, straight grained
hardwood accurately to size and with edges perfectly
square. Cut shaving escapement and cutter clearance and
assemble as shown in diagram.
