4. Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechargeable.
5. Improper use of lithium-ion and lithium batteries with polymer cells and rechargeable
batteries may overheat, explode or ignite in flame spontaneously.
6. Always check the polarity of the battery before inserting it.
7. Never short-circuit the terminals of the positive and negative terminals with a wire.
8. Never carry or store a battery along with necklaces, hair pins or other metallic materials.
9. Never puncture, hit or trample a battery and protect it against any form of mechanical
damage.
10. Protect the battery against water and moisture.
11. Never disassemble a battery or try to modify it in any way. The battery is equipped with a
number of safety devices. If you damage any of these devices, it may cause it to overheat,
explode or ignite fire spontaneously.
12. The battery safety circuit should not be used as a circuit breaker.
13. Keep the battery away from flames, ovens or other sources of heat. Never expose the
battery to direct sunlight or store it or use it in a vehicle on sunny days. High temperatures
can damage the battery's safety circuit and cause it to overheat, explode or ignite fire
spontaneously. Use the battery in those conditions that cannot reduce performance or
reduce battery life.
14. If the battery will remain out of service for a period of time, it must be charged at 30-50%
and stored at an ambient temperature between 19ºC - 25ºC. If you are going to be idle
for a long period of time, charge the battery once a year to prevent it from discharging
completely.
15. Both the battery and the charger will heat up during charging. This is normal and does not
indicate that it is malfunctioning.
16. You must stop charging if the battery does not fully charge within the estimated
charging time. Failure to stop charging the battery may overheat, explode or ignite fire
spontaneously. The battery should be charged at temperatures between 0ºC and 40ºC.
Charging at other temperatures can severely damage the battery or reduce its life.
17. Disused batteries must be insulated by adhesive tape or similarly wrapped around the
terminals.
18. Never dispose of the battery in a fire or pour it with normal household waste. Always take
the spent batteries to your recycling center.
19. Stop using a battery immediately if you notice an unusual smell during charging /
discharging, when it is heated, if it changes color or deforms or if you notice any
abnormality.
20. You must charge the battery before its first use. It will reach its full capacity only after
several cycles of loading and unloading.
NOTE: Before using, read this instruction manual carefully.
Residual risks
There will always be a residual risk even if you use the hedge trimmer correctly. The hedge
trimmer design may involve the following hazards:
• Contact with an unprotected part of the blade (result: cut injuries)
• Put your hand or take the hedge trimmer while it is running (result: cut injuries)
• Sudden and unexpected movement of the plant or cut material (result: cut injuries).
• Expulsion or catapult by a damaged tooth.
• Expulsion or catapult of the cut material.
• Ear damage if you do not wear the appropriate ear protection equipment.
• Inhalation of the cut material.
