Battery
-
Never attempt to open or modify the battery for any reason. The electrolyte
released is corrosive and can cause eye and skin damage. It can be toxic if
swallowed.
-
Under extreme conditions, the battery may leak. When you notice liquid on the
battery, proceed as follows:
-
Wipe off the liquid carefully with a cloth. Avoid contact with the skin.
-
In case of skin or eye contact, follow the instructions below.
-
The battery fluid, a 25-30% solution of potassium hydroxide, may be harmful.
In case of skin contact, rinse immediately with water. Neutralise with a mild
acid such as lemon juice or vinegar. In case of eye contact, flush with plenty of
clean water for at least 10 minutes.
-
Do not expose to water.
-
Do not store in areas where the temperature may exceed 40°C (104°F).
-
Charge at room temperature: between 18°C and 24°C, never at ambient
temperatures below 4°C and above 40°C.
-
Only charge using the charger supplied with the tool.
-
Before charging, make sure the battery is dry and clean.
-
Use only the correct type of battery for the tool.
-
Be careful when handling and storing batteries so as not to short-circuit them
with conductive materials such as rings, keys or coins. There is a real risk of
overheating the battery or conductor, causing fire or burns.
-
Do not throw the battery into a fire. It may explode. Follow the instructions and
regulations given by the local authorities regarding environmental protection.
Dispose of used batteries at an appropriate waste disposal facility.
