IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
• Please read this instruction manual carefully and keep it for future reference.
• This manual only contains basic information on the safety measures to be adopted during
installation, maintenance and start-up.
• The complete manual and this quick start guide can be read and downloaded as a PDF file
from the website at www.astralpoolmanuals.com.
• See your filter label and data sheet for the operating settings, working temperature and
maximum working pressure. You can also see this information about your filter at
www.astralpool.com.
• Follow all the safety requirements and recommendations described in this manual.
• This filter has been designed for the filtration of particles suspended in pool water. This filter
should not be used with other liquids nor is it recommended for other uses.
• Ensure that the filter is located so that it can be operated and maintenance work done safely.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the filter or other pool
equipment.
• Any damaged parts or set of parts must be replaced immediately.
• Any modification to the product not authorized by the manufacturer is not allowed.
• Only use original spare parts and accessories authorized by the manufacturer. The product's
manufacturer is exempt from all liability for any damage caused by unauthorized spare parts
or accessories.
• This filter operates under pressure. Whenever any part of the circulation system (i.e., filter,
pump, valves, etc.) is serviced, air may be drawn into the filter and become pressurized.
Pressurized air in the filter can cause the filter tank to break down or the filter cover to be
blown off, which can result in a serious bodily injury or damage to property. Be sure to purge
the air out of the filter.
• Most filters have a built-in automatic air relief system. A tube runs to the top edge of the filter
and directly takes the air to the collector and is then expelled. However, it is advisable to use
the manual air vent, which is located at the top of the filter, to purge the air from inside the
filter when it is being filled with water and after backwashing.
• Ensure that the power is switched off before handling the filter or valves or touching any wet
parts, valves or pipes that are near electrical devices.
• Water drained from the filter or any other equipment can cause an electrical hazard that
could cause a serious bodily injury or damage to property.
• A wrongly fitted valve could cause the product or the valve to malfunction, which could cause
serious bodily harm or damage to property.
• Never attempt to handle the filter or valves when the pump is running or when there is
pressure inside the filter, valves or pipes. This could cause a serious bodily injury or damage
to property.
• The water facility must be compliant with all domestic and local regulations, especially with
regard to electrical issues.
• This unit works at under pressure. Take great care to tighten all screwed and threaded
components (lids, connections, valves, straps, etc.) before starting up the pump, as a badly
tightened nut, thread or strap could lead to the sudden ejection of the filter's components that
could cause serious bodily harm or material damage.
