Maintenance
»
Only use Dexron automatic transmission fluid. Fill up
the tank with all cylinders collapsed. The level in the
hydraulic pump should be ½" (12 mm) from the top of
the tank.
»
Whitish fluid indicates that water has contaminated
the fluid, and blackish fluid indicates that the fluid
has been subjected to high temperatures. Replace
the operating fluid whenever these symptoms are
noticed.
»
If humidity is a problem or the mill is used outside in
humid weather, drain and replace 2 qt (2 L) of fluid
every six months. If humidity is not an issue, drain
the tank every year to prevent fluid wear. To drain the
tank, we recommend using a siphon pump.
»
Replace the hydraulic system cartridge filter at least
every 500 hours of operation.
Storage
When not in use for an extended period of time:
»
Cover the pump and valves.
»
Collapse hydraulic cylinders.
EN–10
After the pump hoses have been
properly installed and with the cylinders
collapsed, remove the oil tank cap and
fill up the tank with Dexron automatic
transmission fluid. The level in the
hydraulic pump should be ½" (12 mm)
from the top of the tank. When the proper
level has been reached, tighten the cap
back in.
Note:
»
Only use Dexron automatic transmission
fluid.
»
Regularly check the oil level before each
use of the sawmill (while system is still
cold).
